Our ingredients

Northern Fields is providing consumers with a holistic approach to healing the body naturally with the use of herbs grown from the rich soils of Northern Ontario.

Northern fields has conducted many trials and has invested in lab testing to verify quality and efficacy of their products. Each herb is hand picked and processed with quality in mind.

We currently provide dried herbs packaged in a tea, however, herbs can be used in a multitude of different applications such food applications, self care and alcohol infusion.

Join Northern Fields and their team in experiencing and absorbing the healing power of herbs with all of your senses.

Our Process

  • Our first step is always research. We start by researching raw materials (we pride ourselves in sourcing raw materials from reliable, locally produced sources), Benefits, Healing properties, Essential oil blends, Herbs, Efficiency, Production methods, and Outcome. Once we have gathered as much knowledge as possible, we move onto “Small Batching”. Small batches of product are provided to clients and but through trials. We always survey our product via a small group of individuals before the product is put to market. Once the product has received positive reviews, we then produce for the general public.

  • Seeding begins in the month of May. As our crops grow, we do weed management via prevention, control, and eradication ensuring that our plants are not compromised. Harvest for Chamomile typically starts in July, and Calendula harvest runs from August to the end of October. All of our crops are hand harvested using blueberry pickers and care.

  • Following the harvesting process, our our herbs are then brought to the dehydrating facility. Our dehydrator uses sunlight, heat and free-flowing air to naturally dry our ingredients. The drying process typically takes 5 days to complete.

  • The first step in production is sanitizing and disinfecting the area and all tools that will be used. Then we ensure PPE is worn. This includes safety gear such as goggles, gloves, lab coat, hair restraints ect. Once we ensure all cleanliness and safety measures have been taken, we then move onto production phases; Dry, Water, Oil, or Blend phases may look different for each product. While producing Northern Fields products, a hyper sensitive jewelry scale is used for exact measurements down to the drop. This ensures quality and consistency across all of our products.

  • Just as in production, when packaging we take cleanliness and PPE measures. To ensure packaging is consistent across alike products, a scale is used when packing products. All of our herbs are stored in dry storage within food safe containers and jars until we use them. All of our packaging is from local Canadian sources.
